Primark & Avon Haul

Keep on
Haulin' xo

- My week has literally been spent! I have blown my wage a little prematurely on numerous jugs of 'Sex On The Beach', Pina Colarada and pepperoni pizza post night out. However, not all is lost, I did manage to pop into my usual haunt Primark and I also managed to get my nose stuck into the Avon catalogue.

This week I wore this dress from Blue Star, I must have bought it about two years ago and have rarely worn it. I found it sitting patiently waiting in my wardrobe for it's debut. Without further ado it was on and was teamed happily with my pink floral wedges from an earlier post this week.

[A rather awkward stance I must say ha ha! My friend Charlotte was rushing to take the picture as our taxi was getting grumpy outside]

*********

Onto the hauling….

Primark

Pretty Pjarma playsuit £5
- I love this, I haven't bought any new pjay's for a long time and when I spotted this little playsuit hanging up I had to snap it up. I love the vintage, pretty print and the overall fit is just really cute and girly. Perfect for the summertime and the warmer nights I reckon! Time to cast aside my leopard print fleece bottoms and hot pink hoody top and say hello summery pjays!

Elasticated, vintage head band - £2.50
- All winter i have been obsessed with my furry leopard print ear bandeau and I am sad to not be wearing it daily to help keep my ears nice and snug now the weather is getting warmer! So, just like my pjays! It has been replaced with a spring/summer version! i love the flower applique on the band and I think it will compliment a messy bun really nicely.

'Shirt about town' - Ivory - £4
- I am literally obsessed with these tops at the moment I have one in taupe, another in brown and a black one. It was only right to add a cream one to my collection. These tops are just so floaty and light and spring like. I like to purchase mine in a size bigger to add to the 'floatyness' and so that the back covers up my bum as these tops look great with leggings and jeggings! I usually wear mine with dark navy jeggings.

Make up bag - £2.50
- I would be lying if i said I needed this. I have about a million makeup bags but obviously the leopard print and the cute bows swung this one for me. And like her a handbag, a girl can never have too many makeup bags! After all it does have to be fit for purpose, housing all my treasured beauty products!

Avon

Far Away 'Exotic' - £11 with free gift
- I first smelt the original 'Far Away' when I was around seven or eight years old in a talc powder form and I fell in love with it then, I would spinkle the scented poweder in my hair because I loved the smell, as you can imagine white powder, dark hair?
what were people thinking?
Anyway, I never rediscovered it again until the new Avon catalogue came out and I unearthed the new version! I ordered it right away as the scent reminds me of holidays, sun tan lotion and pina colarda cocktails, It really is exotic and I want to make this my 'daytime' scent throughout the summer.
And better still, because I purchased it on release it came with this beautiful, pashima scarf. The colours are my favourite colours and I love the softeness and legnth of the scarf.

B E Autiful

Finally I ordered this cute little number.
Hello Kitty overnight bag £11.
- Whenever I sleep out, I never have a specific bag to keep all my overnight things in and I end up toteing a huge, heavy bag full of my normal hangbag things and then my pjarmas and the next days clothes. When I spotted this in the catalogue I snapped it up on my list right away. I love hello kitty and I love the way she has been made into a little cupcake!
It isn't overly huge but perfect for a little over night stay. :)

Easy Everyday Eyes!

Everyday eyemakeup feat:
the naked palette.

- It is safe to say that I have come a long way from the days where I would line my entire eye in thick, black, uneven and crusty cheap liquid eyeliner and bright turqouise eyeshadow.
Nice.
From a look as severe as that at fourteen to the days when I simply rocked the olive green and black eyeshadow combo in year 11.
I have to say that looking back it was never a good look, although in my defence I must have had an eye for colour as the shades really complimented my bluey-green eyes.
With the turqouise days behind me, two years ago I ventured to the 'neutral side' and started to become a big fan of the 'golden eye'.

I never thought that neutral eyes would make a statement, but I really think a neutral eye colour popped on your lids really gives a beautiful, soft and pretty look.

I got to thinking about my eyeshadow routine yesterday when my friend Jade asked what I was wearing on my eyes.  I also applied the same colour -combo to my friend Charlotte when we went out on Saturday night!
After logging onto YouTube I found several other comments asking me questions regarding my eye makeup routine.

I figuired there was only one thing for it…

"Any excuse to write a beauty post!"

My everyday eye makeup routine.
- With me having to wake up nice and early at 6:15 on a college day, I need to have a quick and effective routine that I know I can get straight into applying without worrying about powder fall out and careless blending.

I use only one palette of eyeshadow at the moment and that is the original Naked Palette. I am sure you are all familiar with, is my 'go to' product at the moment for a neutral eye. It contains all the perfect shades for a daytime to night time look.

1.

2. Prep.
To start with I applied a little bit of my Urban Decay primer potion that came with the Naked Palette.
It is always good to apply a primer as a base for your eyeshadow to prevent creasing and to generally give your eye shadow a tacky surface to hold on to.

3. The shadow application.
- For this I used a few different brushes, it really doesn't matter what kind of brush you use, the ones I chose are an array from MAC, No.7 and Urban Decay

I started by applying the colour 'Sin' a shimmery champagne colour all over my eyelid as a base colour with the brush on the far right. This brush is from No.7.

I then took the colour 'Smog' a deeper, golden brown shade into the outer corner of my eyelid using the same brush. Any excess I had on my brush I sweeped through the crease.

- Next I used my Eco Tools pencil brush to apply everybody's favourite 'Half baked' a gorgeous shimmery, light gold colour underneath my lower lash line, I then used the matte brown 'Buck' to just sweep around the rest of my eyelid to deepen up the colour.

- I always like to wear a matte, black eyeliner in my tightline and waterline to give my eye some definition. I applied this one from Beautyuk (available at Superdrug) Following this, I curled my lashes using my 99p eye-lash curlers from Bodycare.

Now time for my favourite part…Mascara!! I love how mascara really finishes off any eye makeup. For my 'everyday look' I used two mascaras. The first 'Lash Architect 4D' which is a great mascara for first legnthening your lashes. I am quite lucky in the respect that I have fairly naturally long eyelashes so this is a great mascara for enhancing that!

The second is from Loreal 'Volume Million Lashes' with a little hint of dark blue flex to really make blue eyes pop! I use this one to give my lashes maximmum volume and to give my lashes a more dramatic look.

The legnthening brush is the Architect 4D and the fatter brush is the volumiser from Loreal.

And Volla!!!

The night city grows
Look and see her eyes they glow.

- I am currently sat in my usual 'blogging position' on the edge of my bed with my 'I love London' mug in my left hand hand listening to my current favourite, favourite song.

You may know it as the Made in Chelsea, season two theme tune.

Yes that's right, it is Midnight City by M83.

If you haven't heard it, seirously give it a listen.

- This is the song I imagine playing (if my life was a film of course) when I first step into the big smoke  to live there for good and embark on my magazine journalism dreams.
Literally everytime I hear this song I can see myself stood in the middle of London Kings Cross.

Primark Haul.

Pretty in Pink

- This morning I met up with the lovely Emma from Aramis and Designer Fragrances in the Harvey Nicholls bar. It really was a beautiful morning and I felt rather summery in my cream chiffon blouse and oversized, totoiseshell sunglasses. We had a lovely time chatting about different fragrances and sipping on Mock-i-to's and Indian summer cocktails, non alcoholic I might add, it was far too early for wine time..although in my opinion there really should be no time limit on when 'wine time' can commence. That said, when I came home I cracked open some Pimms and sat in the garden drinking it and enjoying the sunshine.

-Before I left Leeds I couldn't resist not having a few sneaky detours inside my favourite shops. I popped into Primark and picked up a few bits and bobs.

Now, brace yourself

everything you will see is totally not atypical Holl.

However, today I felt a little more 'girly' so to speak and cast away my usual black, leather look leggings and leopard print blouse aside for some more 'romantic' pieces.

I saw these sat pretty on the shelf alongside a few other floral designs that I am talking myself out of buying because if i don't I know I will be straight back there to buy them.

[Hot pink floral wedges - Primark - £16]
-I absolutley love these! They are perfect for the spring/summer season I can't wait to wear them with a nice tan and a summer dress or teamed with pale skinny jeans as a statement shoe.

[Hot pink summer blouse -  £7 - Primark]
- I picked this up as it will go with my little 'blue skinny jean, floral wedge' ensemble. It is really nicely cut and very pretty and feminine, as look I am now seeking to sport more often.

And to complete…I couldn't not buy a new hot pink polish to finish it off!

[Rimmel nail polish - £4 - 260 Funtime fuchsia]

- This evening calls for me catching up on the latest Cosmopolitan, Grazie and Glamour issues and having a Lush bubble bath, probably watching Made In Chelsea season 2 AGAIN! Okay, there is really no probably about it, I know that I will have my MacBook Pro strategically placed in the bathroom so that I can watch #MIC whilst having a good soak.
blissful.

Holl
