The Leeds Blogger Meet

- Saturday 9th March saw the annual Leeds blogger meet up take place!
Held at Chilli Whites in the city centre, the event was hosted by the gorgeous Ray of (Ohwhoishe) and Tor of  (That'sPeachy) who are now running blogging events under FABBevents.
As soon as I heard about the event I was super excited to book my train tickets home and see the blogging babes!
I always love blogging meet-ups as it is a fantastic way to meet and catch up with other bloggers.
The girls really pulled the event out of the bag and like previous meet-ups
which you can read about *The 2012 Leeds Meet-up HERE*
it was a complete success.

Upon arrival we were greeted with gorgeously, scumptious cupcakes
and brownies made to look like lollipops.
Tor informed me that the cakepops were made by her friend Charlotte

A good old blogger event called for an afternoon Cosmoplitan that
the lovely Erin from the 411 of fashion bought me.
How she knew I am a Cosmo kind of girl, I will never know. ;)

We then were invited to watch some presentations from Ark clothing and Health Point Ltd, who
make one of my favourite budget, beauty brands Derma V10.
The girls from Best British Bloggers also came along to give us some informative advice
on blogging, relationships with PR companies and a little bit more information about them.

I had a lovely chat with Khila aka Miss Budget Beauty.
I was a little bit in awe of her having watched her Youtube channel since 2010.
She was one of the first beautyYoutuber's that I ever watched and inspired me to start my own channel.
I also caught up with Dan from DancingThroughTheFire, Lizzie from candyflosscurlscupcakesandcouture, Laura from Lora505, Jo from Lespoirdemavie, Jess from PeachyNotes, Phoebe from North of London Laura from LauraBlogsbeauty and Laura from WhatLauraLovesUK

Highly coverted hair styling brand Cloud 9 were holding a give away of their iconic waving wand.
Everyone who wanted to take part had to tweet them and a winner was picked at random.
Low and behold and much to my shock
I WAS the winner!
It was fantastic, I felt so lucky!

We were also very, very, very generously treated to 3 goody bags!
I cannot wait to try out the products and review them for you!

What I wore to the event…

- Like anybody else who is budget conscious, I love stumbling upon an outfit that costs me under a tenner.
I am not one for caring about the label, Topshop clothes have never interested me and I can't justify spending ridiculous amounts of money on a piece of clothing when I can find an entire outfit for cheap.
Last week I was on a flying visit home to Leeds, I had time to kill before my meeting
so I headed to that place that no cash strapped girl should venture to.
I popped in to see what holiday garments they are stocking at the moment.
When the Easter holiday's arrive I shall be headed over there to buy my
holiday essentials.
I always have a scout of the sale rail
£5 and under anybody?
I came across a little dress that caused love hearts in my eyes.
It was a bank breaking fiver. ;)
- I love the 1960's style of this dress.
It reminds of something Twiggy Lawson would wear.
The shapelessness and the high collar at first worried me, but having tried the
mini dress on, I loved it.
The collar and pockets are lined in a monochrome, houndstooth print
which adds another 1960's element.
I paired the simple dress with plain, black tights and my River Island brown wedges
I wore it with my leather jacket which is also from Primark
and paired this with bright orange nails and my bright orange
Edina Ronay bolster bag.
To contrast the orange and add a somewhat summery element, I added hot pink lips to my look.
MAC's 'Girl About Town' lipstick, my signature.
I used silvery tones on my eyelids and opted for bronzed cheeks.

The entire event was brilliant and I would like to thank Ray and Tor again for their hard work
in organising the event!
Phew! That was a super, duper long post!
I do hope that you enjoyed it.
Love, Holl
