THE BEAUTY CHRONICLE: SUNLESS TAN

Yonka Self Tanning Milk

- As you know, I am back on the fake tan hype.
Something to do with Spring and Summer on its way.
I have recently dipping into continental fake tan.
Ooo Eeerrr..exotic

Yon-Ka is a french skincare brand which was founded in 1954.
I have recently been trying out the
Yon-Ka
Lait Auto-Bronzant
which is essentially a hydrating, nourishing, self tan milk.
"All throughout the year , the self-bronzer gives you a natural looking,
radiant and even glow without exposure to the sun.
It is also a true protective treatment with hydrating, smoothing and nourishing virutes.
With DHA and fruit extracts.
"
What I thought..
For a self tan that sits nearer the higher end of the price bracket I
was expecting a little bit of luxuary…
I was super impressed with the application of this tan.
It is a thick, moisturiser cream formula that is white.
White tanners are excellent for developing on the skin and leaving your sheets and p-jays
orange, stain free.
I also like that the tanner has no scent to it at all upon application.

The colour starts to develop after an hour and amazingly no
strange biscuity smell appears either!
After 4-5 hours it is noticeable that you have something on your skin
but it isn not overpowering or fake tan-esc.
I prefer to apply false tan before bed.

Upon rinsing the baseline tan in the shower the following morning
I was left with a lovely sunkissed glow.
Nothing over powering but also not un noticeable.
Upon showing my bath wasn't left with a 'tan tideline'
as the water rinses clear.

I was impressed with this tan due to the non messy nature of it.
It is what I would call
a mature false tan.
Perfect also for people such as myself with fair natural skin.
What do you think of false tans in the high end market?
Better, worse or just as good than our drugstore favourites?
Love, Holl

  1. I'm always a very cautious false tanner - I HATE the permatanned orange look and streaky legs make me cringe so this sounds fab! I haven't been using any fake tan lately though as I suffer from eczema so I'm a bit terrified of setting my skin off with the chemicals in them! Is this one dermatologically tested?

  4. This sounds perfect. I use St' Moriz and its like a chocolate mousse exploded after every use - Not great when you wear a light top the next day. Everything about this tan is appealing though. Their websites looks amazing aswell.
