THE HAIR CARE CHRONICLE: COLOUR LOSS PREVENTION

Yuko 'Lock In'

Colour Treatment and Shampoo

- For as long as I have been saturating my hair with chemicals, I have been on the hunt for hair care products with a knack for saving my colour.

As you know, for the best part of three years and on and off prior to that, I have been dying my hair various hues of red, purple and mahogany.

Recently, I have been opting to dye my hair with colours containing less red tones.
I have been choosing 'honey brown' and 'Iced Praline' shades as opposed to the
artificial reds.
Through years of red dye, my hair still contains a ridiculous amount of artificial red.

Ofcourse, I am still trying desperately to prevent the red in my hair turning a strange shade of washed out orange or pink, so colour loss prevention is still as the very forefront of my hair care agenda.

I have recently discovered
- YUKO was created in Japan in 1996 by Yuko Yamashita, a hair stylist and salon owner who wanted to make peopl's lives easier when it came to hair care.
Yuko wanted her customers to have beautiful, healthy hair without having to spent hours getting it that way so she approached Phiten, a Japanese health and beauty company who she has been with for over 16 years.

I have been religiously using the YUKO
Lock In Color Shampoo and Treatment

The shampoo is for regular use, it locks in colour and stregnthens hair leaving it soft and smooth.

What I thought….
The shampoo is very light when applied through the hair, it is of a pearlescent colouring and smells almost identical to Aveda products.
A very natural, scent.
The shampoo lathered quickly and left my hair feeling thoroughly cleansed.

The conditioner is an intensive treament that detangles, deeply nourishes and leaves hair soft and stronger.

What I thought….
The balm-like consistency of this conditioner is lovely, I applied the product generously through my hair and left it on as a mask for around five minutes.
The conditioner left my hair feeling ridiculously salon soft.

- Both products left my hair feeling cleansed and super soft.
My hair smells fresh and is non greasy.
Nor does not feel saturated with products.

Both products have brought out the golden tones in my recent blonde highlights
alongside protecting the pink, fade on the ultra red sections of my hair.

Overall, I am interested in the other products in the YUKO range.
I am beginning to find a taste for salon, professional hair care as I notice the difference
in how my hair styles and feels having switched up my everyday, drugstore shampoo and fonciditoner for these YUKO products
What do you think of salon, professional hair
care?
Love, Holl
