THE BEAUTY CHRONICLE: GLOSSYBOX TURNS 2

The May edition

- In recent months the Glossybox product contents have been on fire, I loved the Peal Lowe box and throughly enjoyed the March Box also, however, it is now the case that the Glossybox winning streak for me personally has come to and end with May's box a little disapointing.

This month Glossybox are celebrating their 2nd birthday and for a celebratory, occasion box I wasn't wowed by any the products.

Headline Colors
'Poolside party nail polish in Centerfold'

- I have seen other boxes with a lush sea blue and spring green shades.
I myself was treated to a very odd, beige/sand colour, pretty non descript for my liking.
Although the polish applies nicely to the nail, this is not a very wearable colour for me, the shade should be renamed Meh.

My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream
Lavender

- I love the backstory behind this product, developed by Salisbury District Hospital over 20 years ago, the cream was designed to help patients recovering from burns and plastic surgery and
all profits fo back into patient care
It is 5% sunflower oil.
It is deliciously scented and non greasy upon application.

Caudalie
Divine Oil

- In recent times I have become quite the fan of the multi purpose oil and whilst the thought
of applying this to my skin scares me a little, it will be perfect for the ends of my hair, whereby I do use oils to pat the nutrients back in.

Givenchy
Dahlia Noir

- I really cannot stand recieving perfume samples and although the quality of the packaging of perfume samples has been upped, it still drives me insane.
I smell them once and forget about them, I have my usual suspects of perfume that I wear over and over it is not likely that I will remeber the teeny sample applicator at the bottom of my bag.
The scent is what I would describe as spring time pretty, it is not my kind of scent but smells pleasant all the same.

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics (Formerly BM Beauty)
Prime and Create Mixing Medium

- The clear aloe vera based gel can be turned into a cream foundation, blush and eyeshadow for all skin types.
It can be used as a primer aloneas well as being mixed with other products.
I will almost certianly be using this as a primer to see how well it keeps my foundation staying put throughout the day.

Glossybox
Emery Board

- Overall I wasn't wowed by this otherwise mundane box, I will use the products and give them a whirl but nothing screams out to me.
What do you think of this month's box?
Do you think it could have more 'wow factor' products inside to celebrate Glossybox's 2nd birthday?
Love, Holl

  1. Hmm it does seem a bit of a disappointment, but I think anything would after last month's. The oil may be just like bio oil on the skin, so maybe worth a try? You could always just jump in the shower if it turns out to be too greasy.
