THE GUEST POST CHRONICLE: DANNI FROM GINGERBREAD SMILES

Autumn Nails

Hi, I’m Danni from gingerbread smiles
I’m very grateful that Hollie has given me the chance to be a guest blogger and bring you this post to help you get your nails set for autumn.

When autumn comes around the bright colours that graced summer get packed away for next year and outcome the browns, greys and khaki greens.
Instead of being glum that the neon colours you painted your nails in August are being shelved, embrace autumn and the beautiful colour combinations it will bring.
I’ve looked through my vast nail varnish collection and picked three nail ‘looks’ that I think will be great for Autumn.

For my first look I wanted to show that brown doesn’t have to be boring when it is paired with something that sparkles. I have used OPI – Wooden Shoe Like to Know? (From the Holland Collection) on most of my nails except my accent nail which I have used OPI – What Wizardry is This? (From the Oz Collection).

Wooden Shoe Like to Know is a warm brown with a fine gold shimmer running through, I think this is what makes me enjoy this brown so much.
What Wizardry is This is one of OPI’s liquid sand polishes. What makes this polish so special is that it is also a dark brown colour but again it has some lovely gold accent glitter which just makes the polish so gorgeous. Paired together I think these two work perfectly.

The second look I’ve gone for is another combination of colours that I think will work great in the autumn months. I’ve chosen OPI – Casino Royale (From the Skyfall collection) for the majority of my nails and Sinful Colors – Island Coral for my accent nails.

Casino Royal is a beautiful deep purple that is a great thick consistency. I’d class Casino Royale as an autumn shade that contrasts nicely with Island Coral which I would say is a summer shade being so beautifully bright. These two polishes together work well as the coral isn’t too outlandish which means it can sit well with the purple.

The last look I’ve gone for is a bit of a wild card. It started off as a sweet glitter gradient and turned into this elegant gloopy glitter manicure.

The colours I’ve used for this look are OPI – Vant to Bite my Neck (From the Euro Centrale Collection) and China Glaze – Angel Wings. The dark purple and the gold glitter work together so beautifully, it is like they were made for each other. This manicure is something a bit fun that will make you forget about summer.

I hope these nail ‘looks’ inspire you to create some autumn manicures using autumn colours with a twist as I have above!

Do you have a favourite autumn colour combination?
