THE HAIR CARE CHRONICLE: PRODUCTS FOR ALL WATER TYPES

Area H2O hair care

- Do you remember this post?
I babbled on about how different water types make a difference to the clarity of my skin.
You all thought I was mad.

Well…

I have since discovered that I was indeed onto something.
Allow me to introduce you all to:
Area H20 Haircare
"Your water + Our science = Great hair"*

Area H20 has been designed and developed by bio chemists to work with your water type following six years of exhaustive clinical trials.
According to the H20 people, this has resulted in cleaner, shinier, less fly away hair for us!

Over the past month I have been giving the H20 shampoo and conditioner a go.
I have really been testing the products out as I do a fair bit of travelling up and down the country, heading into different water types monthly.

Where I am from in Leeds, we have hard water.
Whilst at uni in Liverpool I wash my hair in soft water and when I visit Dan in London I wash my hair in extremley hard water.

So..

What does hard water hardness mean?
The degree of 'water hardness' is determined by the amount of minerals dissolved in the water together with the water pH and temperature.
Calcium and magnesium act as indicators of hard water.

How does water effect my hair?
Hard water deposit is called limescale which remains on the hair after shampooing which tends to leave my hair inparticular rough and super hard to detangle.
Hard water doesn't lather up as nicely either.
Soft water on the other hand leaves a slippery feeling on the skin.

You can purchase the shampoo and conditioner for hard, medium and soft water however, I have been testing out the hard water shampoo and conditioner which are tailored for coloured hair.
(You can also get a normal to fine hair shampoo variant.)

The Results

The products themselves are packaged in quite industrial looking packaging, the shampoo is 250ml and the conditioner 200ml.
The scent of the products is quite herbally not particually flowery or luxuriously scented but pleasant all the same.

I was told by the Area H2O team that my hair may feel a little weird in the first few washes as the product removed the metal ions from my hair.
I barely noticed anything odd feeling at all and my hair felt the same as it always has done post wash.

I did notice that the shampoo didn't really lather up brilliantly on the first wash but after repeating the procedure it lathered up nicely second time around.

The conditioner left my hair feeling super silky and I can truthfully say that the amount of fly-away hairs have reduced.

I have been suitably impressed by the H20 shampoo and conditoner for hard water.
My hair feels nourished and cared for much better than when I use my normal TRESemme
hair care products in Liverpool.
I would certainly recommend you to give this a try.

What do you think of hair care tailored to water types?
