THE MAKE-UP CHRONICLE: BUDGET MAKE-UP

StarGazer make-up

- My first experience with the brand Stargazer was when I was around 14 and I was going through a 'gothy', 'emo' kind of stage and I hung around Hell Raiser which was a goth/rocker kind of store with a tattoo parlour underneath.

I bought my first black nail varnish from Stargazer from a similar kind of store in Whitby.
Recently, I have been trying out some of their make-up products and I have to say I have throughly impressed and most of the products I was sent to have a look at have made their way into my everyday make-up bag.

Star Pearl Shadow
Red Rapture*

- I cannot explain how much I love this shade.
It is a beautiful plum, red with a slight iridecence.
One of my favourite eye shadows of all time is Cranberry by MAC and this kind of reminds me of that shade.
The shadow is very pigmented and applies so nicely to the eyelid.
I use it for blending on my outer corner and through my socketline.
It is like my hair in an eyeshadow.

Star Peal Shadow
Peach Flush*

- This is also a beautiful shade which is PERFECT for adding highlight the the inner portion of your eyelid or if like me you like a little cheek highlight, you can pop Peach Flush on the top of your cheek bone.
Like Red Rapture it is highly pigmented and nice to work with.
I love the apricot iridecence that catches the light subtly.

Matte Lipstick
Shade: 211*

- This is a gorgeous red shade that I would describe as more of a frost finish as opposed to a matte finish as it has moisture and shine when applied to the lips.
I would say that the shade that the lipstick looks in the bullet is not true to the colour that shows on the lips.
On the lips it is much more of a pinky red (similar to MAC New York Apple)
all the same it is still a very wearable shade.

Eye Dust
Shade: 29*

- I haven't used pigments for such a long time as I find them messy and very difficult to work with when time is short in the morning.
I do however really like this dusky purple eye dust which has gold flecks running through.
A little dust under the lower lash line always looks lovely, especially for the A/W '13 season.

Blusher
Shade:1*

- At first I was sceptical about this blusher as it is such a barbie pink colour and could look a little tacky on the cheek.
I was however pleasantly surprised when I tried it out, it is rather shimmery so go sparingly with it but it is nice for a subtle hint of shimmer and blush.

Metallic Eye Shadow Pen
Brown*

- This is my favourite Stargazer product by far as it is lovely to work with.
Not only is the colour perfect for blending out as an eyeshadow but it is also perfect for lining both the upper and lower lash lines.
It is creamy and stays put all day.
It is a very wearable colour but it is also bang on the dot for this season.

Overall..
On the whole I am suitably impressed by the Stargazer products as they are very wearable.
The only downside to these products is the packaging which I think lets the products down.
In particular the lipstick packaging is flimsy and the product doesn't feel well protected.
In general though give Stargazer make-up products a try as they are simply barginous and great quality.

Have you ever tried Stargazer products?
