THE MAKE-UP CHRONICLE: MINERAL MAKE-UP

glō-minerals Make-up

- A few years ago whilst I was at work a ridiculously huge spot appeared on my chin.
I worked in hospitality and dealing with customers all day caused my self confidence to plumet because the big, juicy spot was just so visable.

My manager at the time let me borrow some of her foundation in a bid to conceal the spot.
It was on that day that I was introduced to mineral make-up.

I was very impressed with the way that the mineral foundation covered up said spot and I vowed that I would give mineral make-up a go myself.

I have since introduced some glō-minerals make-up to my everyday make-up routine and I am very happy to say that I shall be replacing the existing products in my make-up bag for the glō-minerals products.

glō-minerals only use pure, pharmaceutical grade minerals which are triple milled and their products are paraben, dye and perfume free.

glō-minerals Mineral Make Up range is based on the following criteria:
· Pharmaceutical grade ingredients · Talc free · Exclude Dyes and Parabens · Perfume free · Antioxidant blend of vitamins A,C,E and green tea · Micronised triple milled to lay smoother on the skin · Protect and improve the condition of the skin · Anti- inflammatory · Anti-bacterial · Anti-Ageing · Broad Spectrum UVA and UVB protection · Suitable for use post procedure · Non Comedogenic · Coverage ranging from sheer to complete camouflage
Sunkiss Duo Bronzer*

I was interested to see how I got along with this bronzer as I often find bronzers far too orange or shimmery.
The Sunkiss bronzer has two sides a matte brown shade for contouring and a lighter brown, slightly shimmery shade for adding a sunkissed highlight to your face.
The powder is super soft and easy to work with as the colour pay off is very pigmented so you only need a light dusting of colour.

Camouflage - Oil Free Concealer in the shade: 'Natural'*

I love creamyness of this concealer it warms up quicky and applies nicely to the skin.
I have used it to cover up small blemishes and redness and it has done the job fairly well.
I didn't find it to be very good at covering the dark circles underneath my eyes and the product applied thinly.
For that reason I would prefer to use this on blemishes alone.

Brightening Highlight Concealer*
I gave this product a go underneath my eyes as it is intended to reduce shadows and I found that it did the job nicely.
Upon application my eyes looked more awake and bright.
It is not cakey and applies smoothly using your ring fingers.
The only downside to this product is the doefoot applicator which I find distrubutes little product and only works effectively at getting the product out.
I have the shade medium and I find it to be a little orange but when blended into foundation it takes on a lighter tone in colour.

Brow Duo Powder*

I am very impressed with this brow duo.
It is compact and easy to transport and includes two shades of your chosen brown colour.
My shade is ofcourse brown and I like to use the darker shade on the tails of my brows and the lighter brown colour at the start of my brows.
The shadows are soft to work with and very matte which is great for brows.

Overall, I am impressed with glō-minerals make-up and I would look to try other products from the range as I find them high in quality and long lasting.
I have noticed that my skin is not breaking out at all on my cheeks which is very interesting given that my skin would break out in the area's that I used my old bronzer.

The products themselves sway more to the higher end of the price bracket with lipsticks on a par with  MAC at £15 and foundations at £29.50 upwards.

Have you tried mineral make-up?

  1. I have been absolutely loving my mineral foundation! As well as the one I showed you when you came round, I've got a Bare Minerals powder one recently that's amazing - so dewy which shocked me! xx

    1. I really thought that Mineral make-up would be really powdery and cakey but it isn't and any skin complaints I had have gone! Miracle stuff xx
