THE EMERGENCY - NEW BLOG?

Thank goodness this year is almost over!
Who is excited for 2014?
I know that I certainly am.
I just wanted to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year and I hope that you enjoy whatever you are doing this evening to celebrate.

I also wanted to check in with you all to let you know that a strange complication arose yesterday which took me entirely by surprise.

Without warning my .com domain name expired, leaving me with a blog that didn't actually exsist!

I have managed to save what I could however, my blog now exists as:

THE HAIR - FROM REDHEAD TO BLONDIE IN 4 HOURS

I will be so happy to see the back of 2013 tomorrow night.

Gone will be the mourning, bitterness and unhappiness that this year scoulded me with and
I really hope to start 2014 as I mean to go on, with happiness and a whole new outlook on my life.

So, after five minutes thought, I decided to go blonde.
Yes, you read that correctly - Hollie blonde? What!?

THE BLOGGING CHRONICLE: DECEMBER 2013

- This is probably going to be the strangest blog post that I have ever written.
As many of you will have gathered, I haven't had the most pleasant of life experiences lately.
Some of the people I care most for, have left my life this year in one way or another.

There is nothing more scary than such huge changes taking place before your very eyes and not having any power or control to stop it or slow it down.

THE HAIR CARE CHRONICLE: MY EVERYDAY HAIR ROUTINE

- Having coloured hair often presents something of a faff when it comes to maintaining my hairs general condition whilst keeping the colour super vibrant.

I haven't written an everyday haircare routine in such a long time so I figuired that today would be the day.

I start off by washing my hair with my current favourite shampoo and conditioner which is
the Lock In Colour range by Phiten

I love these products as they smell so natural, think Aveda products and they leave my hair feeling really nourished.

After giving my hair a thorough wash I towel dry my hair and distribute a palm full of the Indola - Colour Style Mousse through my damp hair.
This product is ah-mazing as it is the perfect pick me up for red hair that is fast fading.
The mousse applies a shot of colour vibrance through your hair that last until your next wash.
It is perfect for when your roots are peeping through but the rest of your hair is not ready for a full dye application.

If you read [THIS POST] you will be well aware that the ends of my hair were in pretty bad condition.
To try and help them survive a little a longer I smooth a pea sized amount of the Goldwell - Dual Senses - Rich Repair - Serum through the mid to end lengths of my hair.
The serum is intended to work wonders on dry/ stressed hair.

I  like to use a few pumps of the serum on dry hair too.
The product smells amazing and reduces breakage.
I have noticed that the ends of my hair is much less dry and brittle.

If I am not allowing my hair to dry naturally, I spray a reasonable amount of my heat defence spray which is the Argan Oil leave in spray.

Finally, once my hair is nicely blow dried I spray a tiny amount of my Clynol- Colour and Care-Shimmer Spray
I love this product as not only is it conditioning but it adds tremendous shines to the red tones in my hair.

And there we have it!
Conditioned, coloured hair.

THE FASHION CHRONICLE: THE NEW BAG AND PURSE

The LITTLE RED BAG

- My first semester this year has been tough. It's been tough, very odd and more of a learning curve than ever before however, one positive came shooting to the top throughout all the madness.
My friendships with some of the most amazing people.

Shortly before I left, after feeling all out of sorts with myself, I took myself into what looked like the strangest, miss match shop I had ever seen.
TJ Hughes anyone?

Seeing as though my mood was feeling miss-match I headed instore to see what it was all about.
And I found a bag.
If you know me, you'll know when I have to have it, I just have to.

Please meet my new striking number:
The little red satchel

She is made from tough leather with a patent, glossy red exterior.
She may be small but she is mighty.

This little satchel is the perfect bag  as it forces you to de clutter and give your poor old shoulder a break from heavy loads.
I only haul around a few things these days.

My large Biba purse wouldn't fit inside my new satchel comfortably so I downsized to a Kimmidoll coin purse which I bought from TK Maxx

It fits in my daily essentials and doesn't clutter up my new bag!

I would just like to wish all of my fabulous readers a wonderful and magical Christmas!

I hope you all have a fabulous time.
Merry Christmas!

She named it the 'Blogger Present'.

THE JEWELLERY CHRONICLE: MY FAVOURITE NECKLACES

pedantic for pendants..

- Whenever I visit home, I head up to my bedroom and get all of my jewellery out and re discover old favourites.

When I was younger, one of my favourite things to do when I visited my Nana was to sit on her bed and look through all of her jewellery.
My Nana had the best jewellery collection and I do believe that is where my penchant for cocktail rings and costume beads came from.

THE LIFESTYLE CHRONICLE: WOMEN IN SPORT

my fitspiration..

- Last years olympic games were a real eye opener for me, I have never really been one to take an interest in sport, of any kind but I sat and I watched as much of the games as I possibly could.

There was one athlete in particular that really interested me throughout the whole games.
bwin are looking to celebrate women in sport, which inspired me to write this post about one athlete in particular that has inspired me.

Jessica Ennis-Hill.

(Taken from Google images)

As a fellow Yorkshire gal, Jessica inspired me to get fit over the course of the last year.
I was a little green eyed monster because Jessica has an amazing physically fit body as well as the glamourous looks to go with it!

(Taken from Google images)

Running has never been something I have found easy, of course I know how to put one foot infront of the other, but I found it extremley tiring and I would nearly always get a stich!

Watching Jessica at the olympics inspired me to try running for a little bit longer everyday.
When I first started I could barely run for six minutes however these days I am on the treadmill and sprinting away for over half an hour.

I have noticed a big difference in my physical abilities and I have to say working on those calves has made my legs look a whole lot sassyier in heels and an LBD.

Who is your fitspiration?

THE LIFESTYLE CHRONICLE: ETSU - LIVERPOOL

a japanese feast..

I am lucky enough to have an interesting friend who happened to live in Japan for a while.
Her name is Lauren and she writes a travel blog.
You will most likely find her HERE.

As part of my 20th birthday celebration's I wanted to try a Japanese restaurant in Liverpool that Lauren had recommended to me.

Etsu which is situated just off The Strand boasts sparkling reviews on Trip Advisor and really is a true authentic taste of Japan.

To begin, Lauren recommended Calpis, a Japanese soft drink.
It tastes like a coconut/lemonade hybrid although it contains neither ingrediant but was delicious nevertheless.

THE HAIR CARE CHRONICLE: L'OREAL PARIS FERIA DYE

            spice power

- Last week I took myself into a hair salon for a hair cut.
Having left it almost a year and a half between trims, the stylist looked at my dry, over processed ends and demanded that I had over an inch lopped off or he would refuse to cut it.

THE BEAUTY CHRONICLE: TUESDAY FAVOURITES

The top three..

Weekly favourites are one of my favourites posts to read, not only do they inspire me to try new products they also work as a beauty staple black book to look back on and remember why I love or loathe a product.

Every week I am going to share with you my three favourite products from beauty to make-up to skincare.

1. Skincare
RMK - Cleansing Balm

I was a little reluctant to try this product as it looked so non descript in the pan, the packaging did not promise me clear skin in a day, blemish busting ingrediants and all of the other wordy nonsense most facial cleansers have scribbled on the front.
I was unsure as to what this product would do for me but I am so very glad that I gave it a whirl.

"RMK Cleansing Balm (M) is a texture transforming cleanser, which its solid balm state changes into silky liquid when applied onto your face, releasing the oil contained inside the wax structure of the balm. All makeup is removed including mascara in just one application, leaving your skin glowing with the rich skincare ingredients and a soft rose scent."

I find that the waxy consistency really benefits my oily complexion and removes all of my makeup simply and effectively.

2. Haircare
Aveda Light Elements - Smoothing Fluid

I haven't had my hair cut in a very long time, this has left it dry and fly away.
I recently discovered in the bottom of my hair care box this little blue bottle.
Scented beautifully of lavender which lingers on your hair for hours this smoothing liquid is applied to damp hair to add moisture, softness and shine.

"Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid is formulated with plant based ingredients, such as organic jojoba which is extremely compatible and an effective moisturiser. "

3. Makeup
Company Magazine Freebie - Liquid and Pencil Eyeliner

Since Company magazine revamped itself a few years ago I have been an avid reader.
I love the kooky illustration and pro blogger attitude.
I picked up their latest issue without noticing the free eyeliner duo.
I didn't really think that it would be much good but gave it a whirl anyway and I have to say I am very plesantely surprised!
The pencil/gel combo is super smooth and provides the blackest of lines.
The liquid is also highly pigmented and isn't crumbly and flaky after application.
Both the liquid and the pencil last all day around my eyes.
A real gem of a freebie.
What products have you all been loving recently?
