MONTHLY FAVOURITES: AUGUST 2014

The end of August always feels like the edge of change.
September is marked by the UK academic calendar as the start of a 'new year.'
Whether it is a new academic year (for me this will technically be year 16?!) The seasonal Autumn/Winter collections hitting the shops, or the change in the air, September always brings change.

I don't quite know where August went, it flew passed me before I had time to even realise that we are now entering the end season of 2014.

This month I have discovered some new beauty favourites that I hope to take with me into September and beyond. The first being possibly the best scented shower gel ever.
The Imperial Leather 'Grapefruit and Pomegranate' body wash is like a friendly yet invigorating wake-up call every morning. I have never smelt a shower gel quite like it and I although my current bottle is nearly empty I already stocked up on another three.
What's best, is that I found this in Poundworld!

The Physicians Formula 'Deluxe Bronzer' is the best bronzer that I have ever used.
The pigmentation is subtle yet powerful as contouring and the staying power is excellent.
I like to swirl a little product on an angled brush and use this bronzer to create a subtle contour in the hollows of my cheeks and down my nose.

August saw me back away from my usual grungy, black/grey nail colours and I opted for a more summery choice in the form of 'Playdate' by Ciate.
It is a beautiful hot coral that looks striking on the nails, with or without a tan.

Sticking with colour, my favourite lipstick this month is 'Brighton Rock' by Topshop, I talked about it last week here and I still can't stop reaching for it on a daily basis.
I don't know if it's the memories that it brings to me or the beautiful, matte pink with serious staying power but I love it.

  1. The ciate nail polish is such a lovely shade, I really enjoyed coral nails this summer. I haven't tried any top shop lip sticks but I really want to! x

    1. The mix of red and coral makes it look great against tanned skin but also against pale skin like mine. You so should give a TS lippy a go :) So creamy, moisturising and long lasting x
