This week has been a goody. On Tuesday evening Elliot and I headed over to Revolution on the Albert Dock to give their new kitchen menu a try. We indulged on delicious, fruity cocktails and chowed down on scrumptious street inspired food.
Yesterday was spent having a little shop, basking in the sunshine (with no wind!) and having the sneaky idea to order Nando's take-away to enjoy whilst the evening sun. I then indulged in the Eurovision Song Contest - it's a guilty pleasure but I have to say what on earth was the UK's entry? It reminded me of the Great Gatsby crossed with a Scissor Sisters concert - another little secret revealed there, I have been to a SS concert and I 100% saw Jake Shears' peen.
This weekend Liverpool has been gearing up for the beginning of their 'One magnificent city' festival that includes the three queen Cunard cruise ships docking aside the city. Queen Mary 2 arrives today with the Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth joining tomorrow. I am feeling quite sneaky and lucky as Elliot's flat has gained me a ringside seat to watch the boats enter the Mersey. The weather was lovely yesterday so I hope the sunshine Gods are kind. I wondered through the Pier Head yesterday evening as the warmth of the sun disappeared, there are people camped aside the river and a whole host of fairground rides, street food shelters and people dressed up as classical music is projected around the area.
It will be nice to head to bed tonight without setting my 6am wake-up alarm, gotta love a bank holiday!
