A few weekends ago I was headed down the m62 in my little car to visit my parents and my old stomping ground. I was only there for two nights but of course I had to haul with me my entire beauty regime as blonde hair needed taming and hormonal skin needed tending.

General #beauty bag: In my general beauty bag I packed my trusty Dove 'Summer body' self tanning moisturiser. This is an oldie but a goodie and whenever I smell it, i'm immediately transported back to starting this very blog in 2010. Not a particularly glamorous beauty item but an absolute essential, my current deodorant of choice is the Soft + Gentle 'Jasmine and cocoa milk' variant which smells oh so sweet and lovely. In other essential beauty my current shower gel of choice is Royal Jelly by Boots and leaves my skin feeling thoroughly moisturised and lovely. My perfume of choice was the ever beautiful Michael Korrs 'Luminous White Gold' fragrance which is seriously sensual and sexy. My nail colour of choice is 'Fashion Fawn' by Nails Inc as neutral tones are currently having a little moment.

In terms of skincare I am still using (and very much loving) my KORE skincare 'Foaming Cleanser,' 'Repairing Eye Cream' and my hero product the 'Optimal Repair Cream' which have featured in many editions of my monthly beauty favourites. As a brightening toner I have been using the ESPA 'Balancing Herbal Spa Fresh Toner' to refresh and brighten my skin. The Bodyshop 'Tea Tree Oil' was also packed to keep those pesky hormonal break outs at bay as well as a Saturday night mask in the form of the GlamGlow exfoliating mud mask.

I won't delve too much into my haircare routine as I talked all about that in this post and the products i've been diggin' on haven't changed. I am still using the Lee Stafford 'Bleach Blonde' violet toning shampoo, alongside the Bleach London 'Silver Conditioner' to help keep my ombre hair looking fresh and free from brassy tones. In terms of heat protectant and styling serum I am using the Redken 'Colour Extend' with the Alberto Balsam oil through the ends of my hair.

Make-up bag: I only packed the essentials in terms of make-up as not only was my skin playing up a little bit but time at home means time to chill, yano the way - messy bun on head and make-up free.

As a primer I packed the Dr Murad 'Skin perfecting primer' to be worn underneath the Lacura beauty 'CC cream.' and the Rimmel 'Lasting Perfection Concealer.' My brows are filled in with the George @ ASDA 'Brow Tamer' and my translucent, setting is also a George @ ASDA special, which I couldn't recommend more. For bronzer I add a little dash of the St Moriz bronzing brick and pair it with the oh-so-beautiful Maybelline 'Master Hi-Light' blush / highlighter combo. On my lips I wore 'Russian Red' from MAC - total classic.

I fallen back in love with the Wet 'n' Wild 'Comfort Zone palette' using the lightest grey shade as a base all over my lid. This is before creating a light outline of my winged eyeliner using MAC 'Blitz and Glitz' gel liner. I then go over my lightly applied line with the Maybelline 'Stiletto' liquid eyeliner to create a more define cat eye look. A cheapy kohl pencil is all I use in my tightline/waterline which I picked up from Xtra's. My mascara of choice on this particular weekend was the ah-mazing Clinique 'High Impact' mascara. I gave my lashes an uplift with one of beauty's best kept secrets 'Jica lash extensions'.
