THE FASHION CHRONICLE: THE MATALAN EVENT

matalan fashion event..

Last week I was invited along to a fashion event held at Matalan’s first ever city centre store in Liverpool.
I headed down with my friend Laura  and was greeted upon arrival with yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows and tasty canape’s.

The event was held to showcase the new student designed collections and the partywear collections designed by both Abbey Clancy and Philip Armstrong.
Us bloggers were set a challenge to find an outfit that we loved and label it.
My entire outfit was made up of clothing from the Philip Armstrong collection.
The dress is called the Cybil Dress and of course I chose it for obvious reasons but also for the quality because it feels so luxurious and well made.
I teamed my leopard print number up with a black, cropped faux fur jacket which I think is perfect for the winter season.
It was here that I met an absolutely lovely long time reader of Good Golly Miss Hollie.
Her name is Ruth and she found me through my friend Lauren’s blog which you may remember, ‘Lauren’s Dressing Room’
(Sadly Lauren’s blog isn’t around anymore which makes me super sad because it was my favourite blog ever.)
Nevertheless, it really made my evening to meet Ruth.
After mingling around the store, meeting other lovely bloggers, eating more than my fair share of cupcakes and admiring the shoe collection, we were treated to £10 off anything instore.
I chose this beautiful kimono.

I know that it isn’t the most seasonal choice but I cannot wait to wear it in the summer time over a bikini or with a maxi skirt.
I have been wearing it this week though, pairing it with a snuggly jumper underneath and leggings.
I just think the patterns and colours used on the kimono are just beautiful.
After a lovely evening we were treated to a goody bag.
Inside I recieved this beautiful faux leather, monochrome clutch.
It is the perfect accessory for a night out or a meal out as it holds everything you could possibly need to take with you, including an umberella.
I took it out with me a few nights a go and I certainly won’t be looking back to my old going out bag any time soon!
I would just like to thank Matalan for inviting me along, I had a lovely evening.
Do you shop at Matalan?
