STYLE: 4 STAPLE AUTUMN PIECES IN MY WARDROBE

If I were to choose a season that so perfectly aligns up with my style, it’s AW. I love layering, chunky knits and tights, ankle boots and the jewel toned and rustic colour palettes. I like it when the temperature is cooler but you can still get away with a leather jacket or an oversized jumper as opposed to a big coat.

The majority of the pieces in my wardrobe lend themselves to Autumn so I have been having a lot of fun putting together outfits to take me from the office, out to drinks and beyond. Turtlenecks are currently having a moment and I have been loving wearing my light grey, ribbed jumper from Topshop with jeans and skirts for a pulled together, yet casual look.

A line skirts are super popular right now and I dare say that a certain Ms Alexa Chung had at least something to do with that, I have a plain black, button up corduroy skirt from Primark that I have been wearing non stop for the past few weeks. Sitting high on the waist it’s great for tucking in tee’s loosely or teaming with more bodycon pieces such as a turtleneck or a Bardot bodysuit.

Faux fur is always huge at this time of year so of course I added a super old furry number from wardrobe into the mix, My gilet is from TK Maxx and features gorgeous orange jewel / beaded detailing which is of course perfect for AW16.

Now onto the showstoppers, I get asked about this space age beauties all the time and they’re from Topshop. They are the comfiest statement ankle boots that I own and they even give you a little lift all thanks to the small, block heel. I love creating outfits around them and I really think they pull together all the cool, grey tones in this outfit.

What do you like to wear in Autumn?
