I’m absolutely enamoured by The Moon. Not least because our gal Luna sets the rhythm of our very being here on Planet Earth via the tides. However, she is apparently also in charge of our emotions, women’s menstrual cycles, and the unconscious mind. Mysterious eh?
And whilst my star sign is not Cancer (The Moon being their ruling planet) My Mum and Dad are, and in particular, my Dad is very much synced with The Moon, feeling differently during the various phases of the moon. I also feel a little bit that way. 🌓 🌒 🌚🌙And so, today I’m talking about my favourite makeup and jewellery inspired by The Moon which serves up a seriously celestial vibe.
Inspired By The Moon: Makeup + Jewellery Favourites 🌜
If you’re a long-time reader of my blog, you’ll know that jewellery is one of my greatest loves. Just like a magpie, I am naturally drawn to beautiful, shiny things. I was recently introduced to Carrie Elizabeth Jewellery, Carrie’s pieces are all ethically sourced and handmade in Jaipur, India and made with the finest quality stones.
Whatsmore Carrie’s beautiful range of jewellery caters towards people like myself, who don’t want meaningless, cheap throw-away jewellery, but don’t have the ££££ to buy expensive pieces.
The necklace you can see above is from Carrie Elizabeth’s Moonstone Jewellery collection. Moonstone is one of my favourite semi-precious jewels believed to bring calm, peace and balance. Apparently, Moonstone is a stone of calm and relief from emotional stress (Lord knows I need that!) I absolutely love the iridescence of the stone that is perfectly paired with any outfit.
I like to wear mine layered with other pieces and also on its own, that’s the beauty of Moonstone, it’s just so versatile and beautiful.
The Maybelline Colour Tattoo, 24 Hour Eyeshadows have recently come back into my life and I am genuinely thrilled as I’d forgotten just how good and how lovely to use, they are. I first became aware of them back in 2014 when I wrote about the shade ‘On and on bronze’ in this post.
As part of my ‘moon inspired’ favourites, just look how stunning these Colour Tattoo shades, are? On And On Bronze (Bad to the bronze in the US), Barely Branded and Too Cool. The formulation is super creamy, very long-wearing and offers that dewy/glossy eye look. I have found however that it does tend to crease a little on my beady eyes (small, hooded eye problems).
I mentioned in this post that I am all-about-that-glow at the moment. Anything to add a little something-something to my face – especially on early work mornings!
I’m currently raving about the Maybelline Face Studio Master Holographic Highlighter which is one of my current favourites. The shimmery ‘moon dust’ powder applies lightly to the skin (Despite it looking QUITE chalky – It isn’t). Go easy with it though, as it is really fine and can be a little messy to work with.
