Blogging Beginnings

Some time ago, back in 2010, I clicked publish on my first ever blog post; back then, blogging as we know it today was a relatively new thing. I started out hoping that ‘Good Golly Miss Hollie‘ would offer me a better chance of securing a place at university to study journalism. I guess it did the trick, as I graduated with a degree in journalism and bagged a great writing job a few years later. Over the years, Good Golly Miss Hollie has made way for some incredible opportunities, including the unimaginable, such as a column in Grazia magazine!

The whole experience has been an adventure. And though the blogging/influencer industry has now become unrecognisable to how it looked over 10 years ago, it really does still amaze me that I am still here a decade later writing about fluffy stuff such as the beauty products I’m coveting, as well as more topical content about working smarter and mental health.

Hi, I’m Hollie

I am a Sagittarius with a love of cats, wildflowers and Yorkshire tea. Originally hailing from a small city in West Yorkshire called Wakefield, I have lived for the last 10 years or so, in Liverpool with my naughty (but very cute) Serengeti cat, Alf.

By day, I am a technical project manager working within the football industry and a freelance beauty writer supporting brands such as LOOKFANTASTIC and Salons Direct.

I’ve typically always worked within the digital space. In 2015, I delved into the other side of the blogging industry, specialising in content marketing, copywriting and influencer marketing. With that in mind, it may also be helpful for you to know that I also offer freelance content marketing and copywriting services. If you’d like to see how we could work together, head over here.

In my spare time, I volunteer for Childline as a helpline counsellor, and I am currently in the process of renovating and sprucing up our Edwardian end-terrace home. Amongst house plants, bright lipstick and 1980s pop culture, I’m often found filling our house with antiques and lots and lots of patterns and colour.

Blog Collaborations

Over the last 10 years, I have worked alongside many brands and agencies to create high-quality collaborative content. Known for my honest approach and unique tone, Good Golly Miss Hollie is a dedicated space where I can provide:

* Gifted product reviews

* Sponsored content

* Review visits of restaurants, travel and attractions

If you represent a brand and you would like us to work together.
