I've recently been really impressed with what The Body Shop is offering. I find myself popping in to store regularly to see what's new and to stock up on my favourite essentials - I talked about 3 of my favourite Body Shop products in this post if you're curious. Today, I'm sharing my thoughts on one of the newer ranges to join The Body Shop family.

The Carrot Skincare Range From The Body Shop 🥕

The Carrot skincare range is far from gimmicky, oh no, it's pretty darn good and both the carrot cleanser and the moisturiser from the range have fast become my skincare staples. Enriched with organic carrots that are deemed too crooked and wonky to sell to the food industry, The Body Shop has created a small, vegan-friendly skincare range to ensure that no carrot goes to waste! What I also love about this quirky, yet clever offering is that it smells so zingy and well...Carroty - Something that I personally love.

Carrot Wash | Energising Face Cleanser | £8.50

The carrot cleanser is intended to be a daily facial wash that lathers into a smooth, creamy wash. Containing wonky carrots and community trade, organic aloe vera from Mexico, the ingredients in this 100ml foaming wash are 93% derived from natural origins. After a few weeks of use, I've not had any reactions or noticed any adverse effects, it really is gentle skin care.

I have normal skin so I don't find this to be terribly drying, though people with drier skin may not find it to be as comfortable to use. It's not specialist or targetted skincare by any stretch of the imagination, but I really rate it. It's just so cheering to use!

Carrot Cream | Rich Nature Daily Moisturiser | £14.00

Slightly more expensive than the cleansing carrot wash (and in a smaller, 50ml bottle too, mind!) this is the Carrot Cream.  The Body Shop say that this product provides 72-hour hydration and leaves the skin feeling recharged and protected from daily aggressors.

I do find it moisturising but not in a rich way. Sure, it leaves my skin looking radiant (with a slight orange hue as it sinks in) and feeling hydrated but it's not a heavy, sticky moisturiser in the slightest - a good thing in my book!. Due to the absence of an SPF, I only use this moisturiser on a night, after cleansing with the carrot wash.

I do hope that The Body Shop extends this range, or at least expand the incentive to use up perfectly good, but wonky vegetables as it's such a good idea from a sustainability point of view. If you're in the market to try something new and not looking for targeted skincare, definitely give the carrot range from The Body Shop a go, it's really cheering, works and smells beautiful!
